Hermetic technology and CO2.
Fumigation has been traditional practice to avoid insect infestation. Several products have been used, however they have damage to the health of those who manipulate them as for the final consumer of the product.
CO2 as an option
Agricultural professionals have turned to carbon dioxide (CO2) as the safe and organic option for fumigation. This technique leaves practically zero chemical residues in the products and is not toxic for the manipulators.
Therefore, treatment in a controlled atmosphere with CO2 is considered a healthier and less dangerous practice because it eliminates the risk of contamination than when using harmful chemicals.
